HERE COMES THE NOISE!

The Community Consent Amendment is on the ballot. So the campaign against it starts now.

You’ll probably get some mailers. Maybe some ads. You’ll definitely see some Facebook posts. Probably some slick graphics from a group with a friendly sounding name that nobody around here had heard of six months ago. And a bunch of very serious people are going to tell you this thing is dangerous, reckless, anti-business, anti-jobs, anti-growth… anti-everything.

So here’s what to watch for:

• They’ll say it’s not really about data centers at all. That it’ll somehow rope in the warehouse down the road, or the grocery store, or your neighbor’s business. Read it yourself. It’s in plain English, and it’s right here: https://protectgrovecity.org/cca-amendment/#sec-01
• They’ll say it kills development. It doesn’t. It kicks in at a size this city rarely sees.
• They’ll say it hurts local businesses. Ask them to name one. Then ask how many acres it sits on.
• They’ll say it’ll cost us a fortune in lawsuits. Ask them why letting residents vote costs more than ignoring them.
• They’ll say it’s confusing and complicated. Look… when somebody works that hard to make a thing sound complicated, it’s usually because the simple version doesn’t help them.

And they’ll spend real money saying all of it. Money from folks who already run things around here, and maybe money from the industry that wants to build here too. That’s not some conspiracy theory. It’s exactly how this has gone in neighboring communities.

So when the noise starts, come back to the actual question. Because for us regular folks, it IS simple:

WHEN another data center comes calling… do YOU, the residents of Grove City, get a say or not?

That’s it. That’s the whole ballot question. Not jobs. Not lawsuits. Not BS on a mailer. Just who decides what gets built in the town you live in.

Right now, these decisions get made by a handful of officials and the staff who serve at the pleasure of the mayor. Behind closed doors. That’s the system we’re being asked to keep.

If you think YOUR voice deserves to be heard in those decisions, vote YES this November.

We didn’t gather thousands of signatures because we hate business. We did it because we love this town and we’re not going to be told to sit down.
